How this Pick was selected
We compared identifiable hook models for rigging soft plastics. The largest observed five-star pool among the comparable listings we reviewed was attached to the standard Gamakatsu Offset EWG Worm Hook. We checked the manufacturer’s model description and a direct purchase listing, then read favorable and critical written owner opinions for context. Written comments did not add votes to the displayed five-star estimate.
The comparison was specific to the standard unweighted offset EWG model. Circle and treble hooks serve different jobs; Gamakatsu Superline, G-Lock, and weighted versions are different models. Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp showed 55 of 60 five-star ratings on one listing, but that smaller pool includes an overlapping variant and incentivized written reviews. This research does not claim that one hook is best for every application.
What the numbers mean
The Amazon listing supplied on September 26 displayed 2,591 total ratings and 87% five-star. Multiplication yields approximately 2,250 five-star ratings. The percentage is displayed as a whole number and may be weighted, so 2,250 is an estimate, not an exact verified count. The same display showed 1% one-star and 0% two-star, also rounded figures.
The Amazon total includes star-only ratings; it does not establish how many ratings came from named owners. A separate Walmart listing showed 94 five-star ratings and 8 one- or two-star ratings out of 111 total. We show that pool as context and do not add it to Amazon, because the same owner could have posted on both sites.
Product and model limits
Different sizes and pack counts of the same standard hook model can appear under one retailer’s rating pool. That does not mean one particular size or pack earned every rating. Select a hook size that fits the bait; the purchase link lets you choose among the retailer’s listed sizes and packs.
